Howdy!
Glad you found your way to my website! Hope you can stay a while…
That’s me in the photo… I am folk singer, best known, I guess for a song I wrote called Woman Of Labrador which was recorded by the Newfoundland group Figgy Duff and published in The Great Canadian Songbook, a collection of 50 best-loved Canadian songs.
NEWS! On Saturday October 24th 2009 I sang at the Bridge To A Cool Planet march and rally in Vancouver. Here’s a video by my friend Tim Seyfi of the song I sang…
I am also a keen sailor and I guess that’s why I love John Masefield’s famous poem Sea Fever. In fact I like it so much I turned it into a song. You can take a listen here. If you enjoy sailing adventures, you can also view a video of my cruise around Vancouver Island this summer.
I live in Vancouver, where I perform at folk clubs and community events, often accompanied by my wife Danielle Arcand on vocals and percussion. I also play with a band called “Listen Up” with bass, fiddle and percussion.
Recent recordings…
- Excuse Me Your Planet Is Burning, an ironic and hard hitting message aimed at those who are still in denial about climate change (lyrics)
- Duped, a bitter take on the war in Iraq from the perspective of a US serviceman. (lyrics)
- Man With Blue Dolphin, Stan Rogers classic tale of a man obsessed with saving an old wooden schooner.
You can find my music on CD Baby and eFolkMusic.com.
